Become a Foster or Volunteer

We are always in need of help, whether it's through a short/long term foster, or volunteering in a variety of ways:

• Animal Care (cats and dogs)
  

  • Work directly with the animals at the rescue. Exercising and socializing the animals is very important to their mental health. Companion animals suffer without companionship.​

• Dog Training

  • Dogs that have mastered basic tricks/commands are more likely to be adopted. 

• Help set up/clean up events

  • Pre-event committees and day-of event opportunities, such as setup/cleanup, or being an animal advocate at events and promote attending pets and the rescue

• Foster Care

  • Fostering saves lives! You help our animals find their forever homes and help our organization save more homeless pets

• Fundraising

  • Volunteer with the  Development Team aiding with designing, organizing or implementing fundraising details or events. Professional organized individuals with any of the following skills are very welcome to work on projects: data management, computer skills, community relations/contacts, and phone or writing skills. There are multiple ways to put your talents and skills to great use with volunteer fund raising; still not sure, feel free to contact us.

• Marketing

  • Volunteers needed to assist Communications Director in marketing campaigns, street team outreach, and media campaigns Graphic Design Qualified graphic designers needed on occasion to design signage, brochures, fliers.

• Shop & Share

  • Do you have a shop (online or brick & mortar) and have goods or services to sell? We love partnering with talented people who want to share their proceeds on their sales. ​

• Photography

  • Both cats and dogs are always in need of new photos to be shared on the website and social media​

• Virtual Volunteer

  • The Virtual Volunteer program is a volunteer opportunity designed to engage individuals who are unable to make it to events or to the rescue. Volunteer time is earned by posting about the GAPS on your own social media as well as sharing the GAPS posts - Share, like and copy our posts on Instagram & Facebook

• Get the whole family involved with the Junior Advocate Program

• Sponsor a Pet

  • If you are inter​ested in helping a certain one of our adoptables by ensuring their medical costs are covered, you can sponsor a pet!
